How to Remain Stressfree in these Troubled Times

We live in troubled times. We can no longer predict what will happen, if we ever could. Businesses, jobs, systems, ways of life, even traditions are disappearing. I believe this to be a good thing in the long run, as the way the world was run wasn’t working very well for many (most?) people. I believe the shake up is necessary to herald in a new, better way.

That doesn’t mean the change over time will be easy. Far from it. We’re all having to adjust and make changes. Some resist these changes and they will be the ones who have the hardest time. Other adapt easily, going with the flow, and they’ll have the easiest time.

So today, we’re going to be talking about a remedy that can help you go with the flow more easily, instead of resisting.

Resistance could be the cause of all your ailments. I believe pain is merely resistance. Exactly what you’re resisting is the challenge to discover. Most people resist change. But you’re changing all the time. Every moment is different from the next. Every hour is different. Every day is different. And every moment you have the potential to change the next moment to suit yourself more.

But this can’t happen by trying to control or force. Think how you react to someone trying to control or force you to do something. If the force used is very strong, you may well go along with what is being asked from you, but never with good grace or willingly.

However, if you are asked, with an option to refuse, you may well be willing.

The history of humanity is thick with control and people being forced to do things they didn’t want to. Is it any wonder you are now resisting? But, although the world is still, to a large degree, being controlled and manipulated, we are now more free than we have ever been.

Now you just need to grasp it and run with it.

Some typical symptoms you have when you resist are irritability, frustration, anger, anxiety and fear. Anger is a form of fear, but it is expressed in a more healthy way for you, than quivering or freezing. You could say anger is active rather than passive fear.

Some typical symptoms you have when you want to control your environment is a compulsive need for order, even fastidiousness. You may become a workaholic as there always remains something that needs to be put right. Outer control appeases your inability to have inner control, at least to some extent.

No-one really likes to live with someone who is constantly angry or controlling.

The homoeopathic remedy Nux vomica fits these symptoms to a tee. Anyone needing Nux vomica tends to be angered easily. They are impatient. They are driven. They are fastidious. They are workaholics, They are compulsive. They are competitive.

Of course, all this takes up huge amounts of energy, so coffee or drugs are needed to stimulate energy. Then it’s hard to relax, so wine and alcohol are used to help unwind and block out the pain.

This in turn leads to liver damage.

This scenario is very common in today’s crazy world. I think there are very few people who wouldn’t benefit from a few doses of Nux vomica right now.

Some other symptoms of Nux vomica include being very cold (this is from a compromised liver, even if you don’t drink).

And sleep is broken. Typically a Nux vomica person will wake at about 3 or 4 am and then not be able to go back to sleep until just before they need to wake up. So you’re tired, as well as irritable!

Nux vomica is wonderful for curing hangovers. A typical hangover is a headache which is worse with bright lights and noise. So Nux vomica can be used for similar headaches which aren’t alcohol related.

It’s also a great travel remedy, as travellers can suffer constipation, being out of routine. And Nux vomica has a healing action on constipation.

It’s a wonderful colic remedy when you want to stretch back, rather than curl up, to relieve the symptoms a bit. Babies needing Nux vomica will be angry and arch their backs.

Horses needing Nux vomica will try to make their backs sag, when they have colic.

Apart from all that Nux vomica can be curative in ‘flus, hay fever and a multitude of other complaints, as long as the symptoms fit.

Nux vomica is probably the second most widely used remedy after Arnica.

As long as the symptoms agree, Nux vomica will help take the resistance out of your feelings of insecurity in today’s world.

Thought of the Week

When you affirm your own rightness in the universe, then you co-operate with others easily and automatically as part of your own nature. You, being yourself, help others be themselves. Because you recognise your own uniqueness you will not need to dominate others, nor cringe before them.

Riding Between The Worlds
This link just blew my socks off. I can’t begin to write a summary about it that will do it justice. But what I can say is that it follows on well from the above topic of resistance! I hope it blows your socks off too!

KARIZ, THE HEALER KITTY by Annette Maraist
http://www.angelanimals.net/
Mary Perez is living her passion and her dream. She has a home on a cheerful acre of land in the country in Loxahatchee, Florida. Mary is living proof of the healing power of the love of animals and she has defied the doctors' diagnosis given to her seventeen years ago.

When Mary was 24 years old she had everything going for her - a teaching career and a new townhouse. Then life delivered her a blow. She became very sick with an illness the doctors couldn't pin down. They told her she probably had lupus or multiple sclerosis. She was often confined to bed. The doctors told her she would always be in a wheelchair.

One night Mary's roommate talked her into going to a bingo hall for a little bit of fun. While she was there, a woman whom she had never met before came up to her and said, "I have something for you." The woman raised purebred Persians. She insisted on giving an eight-week-old kitten to Mary.

Mary told the woman that she was too ill to care for a pet. But the woman insisted, saying, "You need to have this." So Mary took the lady's phone number and said she would think about it. The following day Mary decided to give the kitten a try. That tiny bundle of fur changed her life.

Kariz, as she named the kitten, was a gorgeous white Persian with round yellow eyes. When Mary was so weak and could only move her fingers and toes, Kariz would lick and play with the fingers and toes.

The kitten gave Mary the determination and will to get well. She says that knowing the kitten needed her to take care of him gave her the strength to recover. Kariz was her angel, and Mary gives him full credit for her recovery. He was the catalyst for the upward turn of her life.

Mary stopped taking all the medications she was on and took steps forward. She went back to work as a teacher and also returned to college, doing both fulltime. She earned her degrees as a guidance counsellor and as a specialist in administration.

Today Mary operates a pet boarding facility at her home. During the holidays she cares for as many as sixty dogs, along with her partner. Her mornings usually begin at 6:00 a.m. and days don't end until about 11:30 p.m.

She shares her home with six shitzus -- Baby, Romeo, Gizmo, Jasper, Jake, and Chino. Since living in the fresh air and sunshine of the country for five years, Mary has not been sick once. And she is physically strong.

The love a pet gives can be a powerful incentive to a sick or depressed person. Bonds between animals and people are spiritual and strong. Animals give unconditional love and they can make you smile and laugh. Perhaps this is the best medicine.
