Are You Sick Because You Have a Disease, Or Is It The Other Way Round?

You may need to think about that question - are you sick because you have a disease or do you have a disease because you are sick? Put another way, is the disease making you sick?

Most people outside the alternative way of thinking would say yes, it is all the fault of the disease that I am sick. I need to get antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-psycotic, anti-something drugs to kill the disease.

But think a little deeper. Anti-drugs may well kill off the pathogen (bacteria, virus, etc), but they also suppress your body’s natural way of dealing with them. This means your immune system takes a tumble. So now, you don’t have the pathogen, but you are also less able to deal with future pathogens. Overall, you have become less healthy.

And it’s easy to see this in the world around you. People are becoming more and more sick. While this is supposed to be because you age, I disagree. Treating ailments holistically strengthens your immune system, making you more able to shrug off future pathogens.

Look at the medical treatment of cancer, as an example. This option is all about cutting the offending piece out (surgery), then poisoning your system (chemo), then burning it (radiation). No-one in their right mind would do this when they are well, so doing it when you are sick makes even less sense. All three processes further lower your immunity. So how can you possibly recover from this?

The sad fact is that many don’t. But it’s always the cancer that is reported as being the killer, never the treatment.

With radiation poisoning coming from Fukushima now a very real threat worldwide, people are understandably concerned. Why aren’t they with radiation treatment?

The answer comes in two words - fear and conditioning.

Humans like to consider themselves intelligent and able to think clearly. But this is hampered by our conditioning - to follow authority figures which stems from our training in childhood. This is why I love to hear of children who don’t obey authority. They are likely to grow into healthy adults who question everything. They may be a pain in the butt for their parents and teachers, but they are well on the way to making the world a saner place.

Authority figures may know a little more about their chosen subject than you do, but that may not be of any help to you if that system doesn’t help you. And authority figures are well known for abusing their power.

And they do this very well by inciting fear. For example, if you don’t vaccinate your child s/he may die. And then examples are given of children who have reportedly died from that condition. But as with the cancer example above, was it the condition that killed them? Maybe it was the treatment or a previous treatment that lowered their immunity.

So is the disease the enemy?

Or are you labouring under the false impression that you are healthy?
