Is Life in the Fast Lane Healthy?

Most people have some sort of goal in life, but they tend to be in a hurry to get there. They forget that the journey is as important, if not more important, than the destination.

I suggest the journey of life is far more important than the destination, as the long term destination is death. Granted, the goal gets you started. But then you need to enjoy the journey’s messages, to fully participate in life. And maybe shift your goal, as you learn and grow more.

In today’s unhealthy and unconscious world, everyone is in a great hurry to get ... where? If work makes such demands on you, are you in the right job or type of work? If there is no time to ‘sit and stare’, are you missing out on the reason for living?

Becoming distracted by seemingly important, but physical dramas, takes us away from the bigger picture of life.

In terms of health, a quick fix is searched for, rather than taking the time to examine why you may be experiencing this illness, what it might mean, on a deep level. But is a quick fix making things worse in the long term? Suppression denies the body its innate ability to heal itself. It prevents your growth. It creates disharmony in both your micro world, as well as the greater world.

Your body has infinite wisdom and intelligence. If you are not paying attention, it will often make you, by creating a scenario where you have no other option, such as an accident or a spell in hospital, or worse, prison. Nothing is random.

To avoid these extremes, look upon your body as your experienced and infinitely wise mentor. It only wants the best for you. Learn to listen to this, rather than ‘expert’ outsiders (including me), who may have a hidden agenda.

In a frantically and insanely busy world, if you don’t take time out to stop and listen to both your body and your internal wisdom, then it becomes impossible not to avoid serious consequences. These are wake up calls.

To avoid them, simply make time each day, to quieten your mind (shutting up that incessant chatter) and ‘sit and stare’. It may only for be a couple of minutes a day, but these moments will improve your life immeasurably. When waiting for a bus or train give the pattern on the pavement your full and undivided attention. Before falling asleep at night, listen to the silence. When waiting to pick up the kids, fully focus on a flower. There are many times, even in a busy schedule, when you can take a few minutes out to empty your mind.

It is only when your mind is quiet that your inner wisdom can emerge. This is not only true for you and your health. It will help you hear what your animal is trying to tell you and how you could improve your life situation, whatever that is.

Homeopathic treatment is not a quick fix. It will act according to what is necessary for you at that moment. This may not be where you think you should be going. Only later, often much later, can you see the wisdom.

Homeopathic treatment will take you another step on your evolutionary journey. That may be slowing you down. Or speeding you up. Making you more aware. Or less aware. It make increase your degree of sensitivity. Or decrease it. It may dissolve your inappropriate anger. Or it may support your hitherto inability to be angry in certain situations that support your growth.

An analogy could be your computer breaking down just before you need to send in an important assignment. By focussing on what you need to do now (find a computer repairer), you will get to your destination, just maybe a bit late. In the meantime, you can justify having coffee with a friend, walking in the park, relaxing on the beach. Worrying about it will make you stressful and won’t achieve anything else. In fact, by hassling the repairer, it may take longer.

Enjoy the journey. Listen to your body. Stay in the present moment.

I'm not very politically minded. There are good and bad on both sides. But I do love freedom of choice so am totally in support of WikiLeaks.

I offer Skype consultations worldwide for both people and animals.

What Does Holistic Health Care Really Mean?

Holistic health, or holism, means your whole (wholistic) body. The parts are intimately interconnected, they cannot exist without the whole, which is greater than the sum of the parts. Your big toe is attached to your head. As far as holistic health care goes this means that, for example, your gout should be considered in conjunction with your headache, which should be considered alongside your emotions - one of the intangible parts of you.

Interestingly, the opposite of holism is atomism. Humans have become very good at splitting the atom, but most remain ignorant of holism.

Holism is not the medical way, where everything is reduced to ever smaller minutiae. This reductionist way of thinking has dominated the human world for a few centuries. And it does have some advantages. You can isolate nutrients and discover what the effect on the body is without them.

The results are then written up in a specific way, with references back to other learned authors, and published as scientific. The holy (no pun intended) grail of the modern day.

However, what this lacks is the overall feeling, the bigger picture, the whole.

And I’m not sure you have to be very wise to make the same connection, without research. Common sense tells us that nutrients come from good food. The emphasis is on good. If you don’t eat proper food, how can your health ever be good?

This means that YOU are responsible for your health. You can’t blame anyone else for the food you are currently eating. You can try to justify why you eat badly. You can complain about the price of food, or the lack of good cafes close to work, or your lack of time to make good food. But all that does is to reflect the onus away from the culprit - you.

You have choices. You need to take responsibility for those, because you are the only one who can.

Some weeks ago, I wrote about how the medical model is based on the concept that ill health comes from outside you, according to Pasteur’s germ theory. This meant that you could bask in the (in)security that anything you did would not affect your health. Although the thread remains, no thinking person still believes this to be true. But the thread does remain. And the automatic response of most is to accept this.

By taking responsibility for your health (and your life), you are able to learn and grow.  Once you start down the path of taking ownership for your life, new senses develop. You become aware of what your body has always tried to tell you. You start to listen to your intuition, your inner wisdom. You instinctively crave healthy foods, healthy actions. You instinctively know, and start to avoid, those people who do not support you.

Current human thinking, the reductionist way, the “I’m not responsible” concept has made slaves out of everyone. By blaming our parents, the government, our school, it keeps us firmly routed in the past, recreating the exact same scenario over and over again.

If you are brave enough to jump off the wheel, to be different from everyone else, to take responsibility for you, then your life can be transformed. This is also the only way to transform the world. One of my biggest passions is to change the world. But I know this has to start with me.

Bad news of a health disorder can inspire one person to take positive action to change direction, to find healthier choices, new alternatives. It can leave another feeling powerless and sad. It is up to you to seek out and support the means that empower and informs you, and to say no to those ways that drains your energy and your hope.

Homeopathic treatment is a true holistic medicine and probably the one with the deepest and broadest action. Everything is considered before a prescription is made - your gout, your headaches, your fears and anxieties, your reason to live. Get you treated, not the parts of you.

Homeopathic Treatment - How is it Different?

One of the things I find most difficult to write about, is to try to explain the difference of the concept behind homeopathic treatment. The world is so dominated by mainstream medical thinking, it’s difficult trying to get through.

It is a process, and often a slow process, to change your way of thinking, but if you want to regain your health, or that of your loved ones, you need to understand that many of the things in your life, that you understand with absolute certainty, may be false.

To give you a nutritional example. Dairy is considered to be good for growing children and to prevent osteoporosis in adults. If this were true, the west, perhaps the largest consumers of dairy, would be osteoporosis free. Instead, it’s growing.

Milk is a wonder food for babies of the same species. Not adults (or infants) of a different species.

Another area of popular misbelief is fever. Fevers in a growing child is part of creating a healthy immune system. A baby is not born with an immune system. A healthy one is only created by getting, and recovering naturally from, childhood diseases.

A heathy child will often have a very high fever for a short period of time, then fully recover. An unhealthy child will never manage a high fever, so will often have a mild fever that smoulders on for days.

The differences between homeopathy and mainstream medicine couldn’t be wider because they come from totally different concepts.

Mainstream medicine is based on Newtonian physics. Newton’s laws are focussed on the physical, or material, world. The totality of existence is focussed here. So medicine is a bit like mechanics. If your car breaks down, you replace the faulty part and away you go.

If your body breaks down, remove, replace or physically alter the body to try to get it going again.

Trouble is with this idea is that the body isn’t just mechanical. There is a life force at work. However, as you can’t see this life force, it is ignored.

But you can’t see the wind either. Or love. Or anger. You can only see the effects of them.

However it is this life force that is at the core of your health disturbance. If your life force is humming along in perfect harmony, then you will be fit and well. However, most people (and animals) have a disturbance at some time in their life, which throws this out of harmony, or out of balance.

Smaller disturbances can often repair themselves in a healthy environment, over time. But the larger ones generally don’t.

This life force is not recognised in Newtonian physics, but it IS recognised in Quantum physics. Quantum physics is difficult to understand for most people. But it becomes quite easy when you simply understand that there is an invisible energy behind life. And it is this energy, or part of it, which can become disturbed after a major event in your life. Events such as major shocks, frights, injuries, traumas and so forth.

Other aspects which can disturb this life force are drugs and vaccines, microchips, an unnatural diet (for your species), an unhealthy living environment, an environment which doesn’t support your free expression or growth and probably many others.

Most of these are common in our ‘civilised’ society. But all can be the cause of your health problems.

All people, and animals, are unique beings. Therefore they need to be treated uniquely. One person’s stomach inflammation may be caused by an injury. Another may be caused by too much sugar in the diet. Yet another may have inherited it from one or both parents.

It is these differences that make each patient unique. And it is these differences that need to be at the core of the treatment. You can’t treat someone’s stomach inflammation for injury, if the diet is the problem.

This is how homeopathic treatment works. By:

  • treating you as an individual
  • understanding the cause
  • understanding, and rebalancing, the invisible life force

Then you will find that not only does your stomach inflammation disappear, but your energy picks up, you are less affected by others pushing your buttons, opportunities come your way. In other words, your life improves in general.

Getting to understand the perfection of how nature works may turn your world upside down, but it will give you greater confidence and self empowerment.

Quick Fixes Can Be Detrimental to Your Future Well Being

This is an age when everyone wants everything in double quick time. People want their health problem removed, regardless of the consequences in the future. People are thrown into a panic when they, a child or an animal shows any condition not considered normal.

Pain killers are the most common drug used.
‘Quick, fix my headache. I want to keep working’.
‘Dull the pain of my injury anyhow. I want to return to the game’.

Yet pain killers don’t address the cause of the problem and do cause liver damage. And this is apart from the added problems you build up by ignoring what your body is desperately trying to tell you.

There is no regard for what is happening. And doctors and vets keep this going, as they have no idea what is happening, either. Medicine has no concept of disease, no idea of the importance of understanding what’s going on. Doctors have a great understanding of anatomy. But you are more that a collection of parts. You are an energy being, an evolving soul, going through various experiences.

Few people seem interested in the fact that life is a journey. As with any journey, it’s not a smooth run. You get peaks and troughs. Sometimes the going is tough, sometimes it’s a breeze.

You need to understand the process of disease. Then you can appreciate the importance of allowing things to happen naturally. And know when you need assistance. And what sort of assistance.

Fever is a great example to use here. Fever is a healthy body’s reaction to prevent entry of an unwelcome pathogen. A healthy body will throw out a violent fever that will last a short time. This will be successful in preventing the entry of the pathogen.

An unhealthy body will never be able to throw out a violent fever, managing only a low grade, mild one which is usually not successful in preventing the entry of the pathogen.

Yet, most doctors will try to bring a fever down, thus preventing a healthy body doing its job.

Occasionally, a high fever can go too high and then problems can set it. But this can be treated by homeopathic fever remedies, which support the body’s action, rather than suppressing it. A win-win situation.

There is a group of homeopaths in South America doing some ground breaking work in treating cancer with the homeopathic fever remedies. They have established a link to suppressing fever in the past, to cancer in the present.

Homeopaths talk a lot about suppressing symptoms because it is so detrimental to your overall good health.

And it’s not just physical conditions that are suppressed. Natural emotions are too. Children are taught not to express their emotions - girls shouldn’t get angry, boys shouldn’t cry.

Suppressing your emotions is even more detrimental to your overall good health than suppressing physical symptoms.

When you have had a lifetime of suppressing symptoms, your first visit to a professional homeopath can be cathartic. But it is also a time of taking the lid off, allowing your body to express itself fully.

This can be unfamiliar and alarming, initially. But, in time, it will be welcomed for the relief it provides. Your natural state is to express naturally, as emotions arise.

Although this is going to be tempered by society rules to some extent, as long as you understand when this is happening, you have a better chance of being healthy.

If you can begin to understand that everything in your life is a reflection of who you are, that your illness is giving you an indication of where you are, you’ve made progress. Your weak back may be showing you a lack of support in your life. A kidney infection may be showing you how pissed off you are with someone or some situation in your life. A malfunctioning liver may be an indication of suppressed anger. Lung problems tend to reflect an unresolved grief.

Did you know that tuberculosis is most common in misplaced people? They have been forced to flee their countries, but didn’t want to. Grief ... lungs.

All ailments are an opportunity for you to grow beyond the present, to evolve, to learn from them and move on.

There are many ways to do this, some of them dramatic, some of them highly emotional, not all of them successful.

Homeopathic treatment enables this shift to happen without any effort. Don’t ask me how you can achieve this life-changing event effortlessly, but you can. It’s as if the wires that connected your emotional triggers have been disconnected.

Children and animals are very good at reflecting back to you, who you are. They are far more truthful, honest and ‘real’ than most adult humans are. This is why one of the best things you can do for your children and pets, is to get your own health sorted out, at an energetic level.

I have been an animal ‘rescuer’ in my time (and probably still am to some extent), until I realised the animals were there for me, not the other way round. I fought that concept for many years (so don’t be surprised if you do), but finally had to accept it, the more I investigated.

Don’t look for a quick fix. Allow the problem to make you stop and really look at what is going on in your life, however inconvenient that may be.

Why do you have a headache? It may simply be a question of dehydration. But it could also be because the situation you are in is not acceptable.

A woman came to see me, suffering with migraines. We worked out that it was two unpleasant work colleagues who were causing her migraines. Once she recognised this, she chose to change her job and that cured the migraines.

However, it hasn’t really cured the problem, as similar people can come into your life at any time. Although I’m not suggesting you remain in a job that makes you unhappy, far from it, the problem is often you, not the job.

The energetic shift that a good homeopathic remedy will do, is to make these two unpleasant people insignificant to your life. They will either fade into the background, or the shift will make them more friendly.

This shift is what all homeopaths look for in consultations following a good prescription.

Homoeopathy is a Journey, a Lifestyle, More Than Just a Treatment

When you start to use homoeopathic treatment, especially when you start to learn to use the common remedies at home, you gradually come to realise that homoeopathy is a way of life, rather than simply a treatment.

Because homoeopathic treatment is all about finding your unique cause of ill health, as well as your personal symptoms, it becomes obvious to you that you need to take ownership for what you do to yourself.

Taking responsibility for your own life is rare in today's world, driven by materialistic gain and ego-related recognition. But you will never have good health until you recognise that this is part of the process.

Diet, sleep, exposure to natural sunlight, time for you, time in nature, time to relax all become not only desirable, but necessary. When you ignore them, you quickly come to realise you did so at your peril. And you need to do something to get back on track.

When you start to use homoeopathic treatment for all your health concerns, the process subtly changes your perspective on life. Over time you relax more, shift your focus, let things go more easily, naturally move towards a healthier approach to life. Materialism becomes less important. Inner peace becomes your focus. Relationships improve. People can no longer easily push your buttons.

This is in perfect natural balance. Ill health is more about the unresolved emotional energy that creates physical ill health as a result, than apparently appearing out of nowhere.

Enjoy the journey. The destination will take care of itself.
